Blog post by Katy Tainton Photography

As a wedding photographer in South Wales, I was so happy to be back at the gorgeous King Arthur Hotel in Gower for Eleise and Dave’s July wedding. The styling of this wedding was modern and fresh, from Eleise’s stunningly unique dress to the all-cream suits and beautiful florals by my friend and talented florist Catrin at Stella Blooms.
Eleise was getting ready with her girls in the cottages at the King Arthur, so I spent the morning with them, getting some beautiful shots of all the details as well as catching the finishing touches to hair and makeup.
Some of my favourite shots from the morning are of Eleise’s son and father’s first look at the bride - priceless moments to treasure.
In this blog, I am going to talk about this modern, elegant wedding at the King Arthur Hotel with Eleise and Dave!

Ceremony
Their ceremony took place in the stunning Avalon room at King Arthur Hotel. Eleise and Dave, surrounded by their loved ones, ready to embark on their journey as a married couple. The room was filled with emotion as they said their vows before their closest friends and family.
Group Photos
Following the ceremony, it was time to capture some photos with the couple’s family and bridal party. As luck would have it, the heavens decided to sprinkle blessings in the form of raindrops outside. But working with the amazing team at the King Arthur Hotel, we quickly adapted and were able to take the group photos with the fairy light backdrop creating a cosy and romantic touch. Looking at the pictures, you'd never guess the rain was pouring outside.
On any rainy wedding day, I will always be keeping a close eye on the weather throughout the day, on the lookout for moments we can steal to run outside when there’s a break in the rain. I was looking for a chance to grab some quick portraits of Eleise and Dave together outside and was chuffed when we had a quick 10 minutes before the heavens opened again to capture these lovely shots!
Entertainment
We were joined by the incredible Steve Taylor for an unforgettable display of magic. He had a special trick saved for Dave’s Best Man, which, I’ll leave you to see below!
Styling
The styling of this wedding at the King Arthur Hotel was exquisitely put together by stylists Cinnamon Pig and florist Catrin of Stella Blooms. Featuring peach and cream flowers with luscious green foliage and accents of gold, it was a dream to photograph.
Surprise Act!
The amazing speeches were followed by a big surprise planned by both mothers of the groom and bride. The waiter that had been serving during the wedding breakfast was in fact a surprise singing waiter! He created quite a stir by elaborately falling over in the middle of the room.
What made this even funnier to witness (and photograph) was that many of the guests in the room were NHS workers, who rushed to his aid, only for him to jump up, wielding a microphone and burst into song! This made for some great photos!
Confetti
Following this amazing musical interlude, the rain had thankfully eased so we were able to get outside at the King Arthur Hotel and shower the couple with confetti, and take a walk through the wildflowers in the meadow past the lake. These shots really show the connection between Eleise and Dave and also, her stunning dress!!
First Dance
We rounded off the photos with the couple’s first dance, followed by a super emotional father daughter dance, which gave me a little lump in my throat.
