As a South Wales Wedding Photographer, capturing special moments is my passion. Courtney and Luke’s wedding at Gellifawr Woodland Retreat in Fishguard, West Wales, this past June was absolutely unforgettable. From getting ready to the lively reception, their day was filled with love, laughter, and joy.
Getting Ready: Two Parties, One Special Day
One great thing about Gellifawr Woodland Retreat is the stylish salons for both the bride and groom. This meant I could photograph both Courtney and Luke as they got ready. Courtney looked stunning in her dress from White Orchid Bridal, while Luke and his groomsmen looked sharp in tuxedos from Dyfed Menswear. The talented Jodie Sheehan did an amazing job on the makeup, and Andrea Bunyan styled the hair beautifully.
The morning was full of emotional moments. Courtney’s father seeing her in her dress for the first time was such a touching scene. Her younger sisters were in tears of joy seeing their older sister as a bride. These moments are what South Wales Wedding Photography is all about - capturing the real emotions of the day.
A Memorable Ceremony
The ceremony room at Gellifawr was decorated with beautiful white florals by Jenna from Bloom Street Florals, creating a lovely and romantic setting. The ceremony itself was full of emotions, especially when Luke saw his children and Courtney walking down the aisle. It was a moment to remember.
After the ceremony, we had fun with confetti and group photos, with lovely music by Lizzie Roberts on the violin. Then, it was time for some romantic couple portraits in the peaceful grounds of Gellifawr, where Courtney and Luke shared some quiet, intimate moments.
Joyful Reception
The reception area looked fantastic with white flowers and green leaves, making it fresh and elegant. There were heartfelt speeches by Courtney’s mother, father, the two best men, and Luke, adding to the joy and warmth of the day.
After the reception, I captured special photos of Courtney and Luke with their two children, moments they will treasure forever. We also took more portraits of the bridal party, capturing their close relationships.
Guests enjoyed ice cream from Tricycle Treats and a fun white bouncy castle that was a big hit with both kids and adults.
As the sun began to set, we walked around the grounds for some romantic golden hour portraits by Gellifawr’s beautiful lake - the perfect backdrop for these timeless photos.
