Introduction
Hey there! I’m thrilled to share the story of Manon and Rhys’ wedding, which took place in the lovely village of Capel Iwan in Carmarthenshire this June. As a South Wales Wedding Photographer, I got to capture every special moment of their big day. If you’re planning a wedding in South or West Wales, I hope this gives you some ideas and excitement for your own day!
Getting Ready: The Excitement Begins
The day started with lots of excitement and happy nerves. I worked alongside Huw from Teifi Films to make sure we covered both photos and videos perfectly. First, I visited Rhys and his groomsmen. They were in great spirits, looking sharp in their suits from Dyfed Menswear and enjoying some pre-wedding fun.
Next, I headed to see Manon. She was getting ready with her hair done by the talented Claire Louise and makeup by Glitz n Glam Beauty. Her dress from Laura May Bridal was absolutely stunning. I took photos of all the little details—the dress, bouquets by Wendy Blodwen, rings, shoes, and veil. One of the sweetest moments was when Manon came down the stairs and shared a heartfelt moment with her dad, then her bridesmaids and mom. These moments are what make South Wales Wedding Photography so special.
The Grand Arrival: A Fairytale Entrance
Manon arrived at the chapel in a grand horse and carriage from Gentle Giants Shire Horses. It was like a fairytale! The chapel grounds were filled with friends and family eagerly waiting to see her. The ceremony was beautiful and touching, showing just how much Manon and Rhys love each other.
After the ceremony, we took family and bridal party photos outside the chapel. The guests were all smiles as they threw confetti on the newlyweds, celebrating their first moments as husband and wife.
The Reception: Celebrating in Style
The reception was held in a gorgeous marquee on Manon’s parents’ land. The decor was simple and elegant, perfect for the celebration. We took romantic couple photos and lots of natural shots of guests enjoying the day.
After dinner, we heard wonderful speeches from the father of the bride, the groom, the best man, and two family friends. The speeches were filled with love and laughter. Then, Manon and Rhys cut their beautiful cake from Cacennau Meinir.
