Country House Wedding | Peterstone Court | Elen & Marlon

The Bride and groom hold hands as they walk together
Elen and Marlon hand in hand, just married at Peterstone Court

What an incredible day this was in October for Elen and Marlon. Such a vibrant, emotive couple whose love for one another was so lush to see, it carried through the whole day and the vibe at the wedding was amazing. It was my first time shooting at Peterstone Court in Brecon, who just won Best Wedding Venue in Wales at the Welsh National Wedding Awards. Very well deserved for this stunning venue whose team paid attention to every detail.

Elen got ready at the venue and so I joined her to photograph all the beautiful details of the morning. She was lucky enough to have the designer of her wedding dress, Stephanie Allin of Mumbles Swansea, there on the day to get her into her dress - the perks of living next door to your wedding dress designer!

I want to give a mention to the incredible flowers by Queens Florist - Julia used the national flower of South Africa, where groom Marlon is from, as the centrepiece of the bouquets. These King Protea flowers were so striking, like nothing I've ever seen before and they carried through to the table centrepieces. Just beautiful!

The couple's ceremony was emotional. One of my favourite parts of a wedding day is witnessing the first look between the couple at the top of the aisle... it just gives me all the feels!

After the ceremony we headed out for confetti and to take a group photo of the entire wedding party. I chose to use the swimming pool to separate the couple and the guests... I love the outcome of the image!

We did the group photos at the front of the building with the gorgeous red front door, followed by some family portraits with the couple's son Aaron. We then headed to the back of the building where, thanks to the time of year, the sun was already coming down giving the beautiful warm glow that I love to use in my couple shots.

A few lovely detail shots of the room and those impressive flowers, followed by magic from Phil Jay Magic - always makes for super fun shots! Speeches were funny and emotional, Elen's dad made me laugh out loud a few times behind the camera with his dry humour.

This couple's first dance really was something to witness - they twirled and whirled all over the dance floor and were then joined by the guests for a good old boogie to the band The Somethings.

I was glad to capture the bromance between Marlon and his Best Man on the dance floor - a great memory for them both from this amazing day.

Lastly I was super chuffed to have captured this gorgeous shot of Elen dancing with her father... one to treasure forever.

I worked alongside some excellent suppliers for this wedding, whose links you can find below. Give them a follow to keep up to date with their work:
