Beautiful Autumn Wedding | Sant Ffraed House | Olivia & Alex

The bride and groom kiss in front of a lake in the grounds of a country house
Olivia and Alex share a kiss in the grounds of Sant Ffraed House

Burnt orange colour scheme... Soft, romantic florals with muted shades of pink and orange... Sophisticated, elegant country house in South Wales... Beautiful, happy couple in love... Check! Olivia and Alex's big day was a dream to shoot.

My first time shooting at Sant Ffraed House, the stunning new venue from the Oldwalls Collection was everything you'd hope for from a luxury wedding venue and more. Classic yet modern decor was the backdrop for the morning bridal preparations and I loved using the beautiful large windows to showcase Olivia's gorgeous wedding dress. We took full advantage of the rooms and even got the bridal party in the bath for a glass of bubbly!

Olivia and Alex chose to say personalised vows for their ceremony, which adds an emotional touch and really makes a ceremony unique. It was beautiful to see and capture their parents reactions during the vows. They had music to accompany the ceremony from Nerys Clark, an award winning South Wales Cellist, and a song from three wedding guests as they signed the register.

We used the iconic house for the backdrop to the couple's formal and bridal party photos, as well as confetti. Using the steps the line the side of the house is a really fun way to get a great group shot of all the guests.

The grounds of Sant Ffraed House are just perfect for couple portraits, so after the group photos were done, Olivia, Alex and I took a walk over to the lake to get some shots of them together. The wind was just right and with a little help from Olivia's sister, the maid of honour, I was able to capture some stunning shots with the veil swooping around them.

We then headed back inside to get some shots at the side entrance to the house, which has stunning stone steps under a beautiful arch.

The reception was held in the brand new K-Room, with panoramic views over the grounds. It's unique to have a venue that blends romantic classic elegance with a super modern glass fronted structure - Sant Ffraed does this perfectly!

As always I like to capture all the little details of the room as well as plenty of natural shots of guests enjoying the day.

As ever I worked alongside some incredible suppliers from South Wales on this wedding. You can find their links below - give them a follow to keep up to date with their work.
